Urbanist and design lead Jason Packenham has been exploring how generative technology can help us look at our local streets through a different lens. Having worked on major city-shaping infrastructure like the Sydney Light Rail and Metro, Jason has turned his focus to the local area, using AI to create a series of images and a video of King Street and Enmore Road.
While these visualisations have a few wacky parts (those Clem’s diners are risking their lives!), they provide a good picture of how these iconic spaces could look if we prioritised public life and vibrant streetscapes. By reimagining the current road corridors, Jason’s images and video invite us to look past the traffic and consider what is possible for the future of our neighbourhood.
